-1 lemongrass
-2 bay leaves
-salt and sugar according to taste

-Beef rendang:
-500g beef
-400 ml of coconut milk
-1 stalk of lemongrass, bruised
-3 bay leaves
-½ tsp turmeric powder
-1 tsp tamarind paste
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp sugar
-2 tbsp oil

Instructions:

1. Rinse the rice and place it in a rice cooker. Add water, lemongrass, bay leaves, salt, and oil. Cook according to the rice cooker's instructions.
2. In another pan, boil the beef and all of the other ingredients for the stewed beef until the beef is tender. Set aside.
3. In another pan, heat the oil and add the beef rendang ingredients. Stir until fragrant and begin to darken. Add the beef and coconut milk. Cook until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
4. Arrange the rice, both beef dishes, and other sides on a large platter.
